The versatile Royal Berkey^® system is larger than the Big Berkey and is the ideal system for use at home with small or medium sized families, travel, outdoor activities or during unexpected emergencies.

This powerful system purifies both treated water and untreated raw water from such sources as remote lakes, streams, stagnant ponds and water supplies in foreign countries, where regulations may be substandard at best. Perfect for everyday use, outdoor activities and a must in hostile environments where electricity, water pressure or treated water may not be available.

The Royal Berkey^® system removes pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites entirely and extracts harmful chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, VOCs, organic solvents, radon 222 and trihalomethanes. It also reduces nitrates, nitrites and unhealthy minerals such as lead and mercury. This system is so powerful it can remove food coloring from water without removing the beneficial minerals your body needs. Virtually no other system can duplicate this performance.

Constructed of highly polished 304 stainless steel, the system comes complete with two purification elements and utilizes the latest technological advances. This system has a storage capacity of 3 Gallons and when in use it stands 25" in height with a diameter of 9.5". The upper chamber nests within the lower chamber for transport and stands only 15" in height.

Configured with two Black Berkey^® purification elements the system will purify up to 3 1/2 Gallons (13.3 liters) per hour*. This system can be expanded to use four purification elements and is capable of purifying up to 7 Gallons (26.5 liters) per hour*.

The Katadyn Vario is a premium drinking water system. It combines the benefits of easy operation, high water output and extended cartridge life. In murky water conditions, a ceramic disc protects the primary filter. In normal water, it is easily adjustable to provide maximum water output. Dual-piston pumping technology provides maximum water output with minimum effort in most water conditions, giving you the most water output with the least effort. The Vario also has a unique feature that allows the internal carbon to be replaced, reducing chemicals and keeping water tasting fresh. The ease of direct attachment to the most popular water bottles and hydration systems adds to the convenience of this handy filter.

Chlorine dioxide, a well established disinfectant is the active ingredient in Aquamira® Water Treatment. Chlorine dioxide is iodine and chlorine free. The unique formula works by releasing nascent oxygen, a highly active form of oxygen, which is a strong oxidant and a powerful germicidal agent. Chlorine dioxide has been used by municipal water treatment plants to kill a variety of waterborne pathogens since the late 1940s. Unlike free chlorine (familiar as household bleach) or other halogen chemicals (such as iodine), chlorine dioxide does not create potentially harmful by-products.
